Connect:

Small groups are at the heart of what we do at Grace Church. If you are not in a small group yet, you’re missing out! In our small groups, we get to know people on a more personal level. We move beyond the “How are you? I’m fine!” conversations that happen in the foyer. We make lasting friendships and find that God is wanting to help us grow in various ways.

In the interest of connecting and forming community, Grace Women has set up a Facebook page just for women who attend Grace Church. Come see what we do there! Some gals give away things their children have outgrown, some make coffee dates, some ask for advice. Join us; you’ll see what I’m talking about!

Strength in the Seasons Small Group

Week 1

Nana focuses on the theme of trading worry for peace in today's message. She emphasizes that God cares about our worries, urging us to cast our anxieties on Him, as illustrated in Scripture. Nana also highlights that God's peace is stronger than our worries and the importance of seeking this divine peace in moments of fear. Lastly, Nana encourages us to acknowledge our need for God's help, reassuring us that we are not alone in our struggles and can find solace in His presence.

Week 2

Nana shares insights on transforming worry into peace through her personal experience with illness while preparing for a message. She emphasizes that envy can hinder our contentment by making us focus on what others have instead of appreciating God's provisions in our lives. Nana outlines that God promises to meet our needs, calls us to be content, and delights in fulfilling our desires, urging us to trust His timing and provision. Ultimately, she encourages us to surrender our desires to God while continuing to ask for what we long for, finding true satisfaction in our relationship with Him.

Week 3

Nana emphasizes the importance of community and connection among believers, stating that we need each other to grow and encourage one another. During the message, she explores the concept of gentleness as a fruit of the Spirit, contrasting it with anger and impatience, and highlighting that true gentleness is strength under control. Using personal anecdotes, she illustrates how gentleness builds trust and improves relationships, whether with children, pets, or in everyday interactions. The message encourages us to reflect on God’s gentle nature and to ask for His guidance in displaying the same gentleness towards others.

Week 4

Nana discusses the concept of whether God is safe, drawing parallels between the behavior of animals and our own relationship with God. Through personal anecdotes about her chickens, she illustrates how trust is built over time, and how our perceived "flight zones" can sometimes prevent us from allowing God to draw near. Nana emphasizes that despite feelings of shame, fear, or guilt, God's love invites us to approach Him for safety and support in our vulnerable moments. Ultimately, Nana reassures us that God is indeed safe and desires closeness to guide us and set us free.

Week 5

Have you ever felt like a pesky rooster is ruling your life, causing chaos and fear in your sanctuary? As Nana Vinar vividly illustrates in her message on rising up in courage, we often surrender our peace to challenges—be it demanding relationships, overwhelming schedules, or nagging anxieties. Drawing from her own experiences, Nana reminds us that just as she took charge of her backyard farm, we, too, can reclaim our personal spaces from the intimidations that threaten to keep us on edge. Nana urges us to recognize our challenges, take ownership of our narratives, and stir the courage within to confront what has been holding us back.

Week 6

Have you ever felt that parts of your life were wasted—lost time, regretful choices, or painful experiences? In his poignant message, Nana Vinar invites us to reconsider our perception of waste through God’s loving perspective. Drawing on the vivid imagery of a farm and the life lessons learned from the steers and chickens, she illustrates how what appears to be waste can serve a greater purpose. Just as spilled grain nourishes the chickens and enriches the soil, our struggles and regrets are not lost but transformed by God’s redemptive grace.

Week 7

Have you ever felt trapped by the boundaries of your life, believing that nothing could change? In this powerful message, Nana Vinar invites us to envision a life where faith-filled action replaces passivity, igniting a desire for growth and transformation. She draws a vivid parallel between cultivating a beautiful lawn and our spiritual journeys, reminding us that just as her husband expanded their front lawn beyond its old limits, we too can push past the seemingly unchangeable boundaries in our lives.

Week 8

Have you ever wondered how to truly hear God's voice amidst the noise of everyday life? In this uplifting message, Nana Vinar dives into the profound theme of "Hearing the Voice," illustrating how we can attune ourselves to God's guidance just as chicks instinctively follow their mother. Using vivid analogies from hatching eggs and personal skiing experiences, Nana emphasizes the importance of recognizing God's constant communication through scripture, His Spirit, and the wise counsel of those around us.
