Don Miller

Don Miller began attending Grace Church in 2016 and quickly got plugged into Grace Kids while supporting his wife, Lynnette, who was serving there. Don and Lynnette spent much of their adult life in the Greenville, South Carolina area before moving back to North Carolina in the fall of 2016 to be closer to family and for Don to complete his career in engineering and construction. After completing Step 1, Step 2, and Step 3, Pastor Adam Dawson encouraged Don and Lynnette to begin leading small groups. Since then, they have led multiple small groups together and have continued serving as a team at the Alamance Campus, including their involvement in Grace Kids. Through their time at Grace, Don has built strong relationships with pastors and church elders. Several of the elders are part of a long-standing men’s small group that meets on Friday mornings at the Chapel Hill campus. The group has been meeting for over 10 years, and after being invited to join, Don now co-leads the group with two other men. Don has a deep passion for serving others and has helped co-lead several serve projects, including five projects at Jubilee Home in Durham. He has also led three mission trips supporting Moving Windmills in Kasungu, Malawi. In addition, Don regularly participates in mission trips twice a year with the Christian Appalachian Project in southeast Kentucky.

Lynnette Miller

Lynnette Miller began attending Grace Church in 2016 and quickly got plugged into Grace Kids after many years of serving in preschool and children’s education at her former church. Lynnette and her husband, Don, spent most of their adult life in the Greenville, South Carolina area before moving back to North Carolina in the fall of 2016 to be closer to family. With a gentle encouragement from Pastor Adam Dawson, Lynnette and Don started to lead small groups. Since then, they have led multiple small groups together and have continued serving as a team at the Alamance Campus, including their involvement in Grace Kids. Lynnette has a deep passion for serving children and helping them understand God’s love for them. She initially served weekly at the Chapel Hill Campus and now continues to love and care for early elementary children at the Alamance Campus. Stepping into small group leadership with Don has also allowed her to build meaningful relationships, especially with the women in her groups. Leading Freedom Groups has created particularly strong bonds among the women she has served alongside. Lynnette and Don have two adult children, a son-in-law, and two grandchildren who live nearby. Keeping their family strong and close is a top priority for the Millers.

Patti Ferraro

Patti Ferraro is originally from California. A retired teacher of 33 years, Patti moved to North Carolina in 2020 and quickly found a church home at Grace. She has a heart for serving others and has been deeply involved in student ministries, small groups, and women’s Bible studies for many years. Patti had the privilege of serving on staff for two years as Campus Coordinator during the Alamance Campus launch. She continues her passion for students by traveling back to California during the school year to speak in middle and high schools on behalf of With Hope Foundation, a nonprofit focused on suicide prevention. Now living in Mebane, Patti enjoys volunteering, investing in her community, and spending time with her two grown children and four grandchildren, who are the lights of her life.

Want to be Small Group Leader Coach?

  • Small Group Coaches are high level leaders with small group leadership experience that help Small Group Leaders develop into the Small Group Leaders that God has called us to be. Coaches encourage leaders to grow in what it means to help their groups care for each other, connect with each other, and grow in their relationship with Christ. Coaches will reach out to small group leaders about once per week to connect with them, pray with them and discuss small group leadership topics. Coaches will help build a strong small group leader culture where developing leadership skills and a heart for prayer is typical.
